Full planning approval achieved at a very large property in the Northwood area. The client, whose beautiful character property which was on a very large site consisting of an indoor swimming pool, wanted to make the most out of the very large roof space they already had.
With the space only being used for storage seemed like a waste, so SSK Architects were asked to design a very large loft space making the most out of the roof and maintaining a sensible height throughout the loft conversion.
The cross-gable roof style allowed for a design to be constructed, which made the most out of every aspect of the walkable space. This consisted of 1 master bedroom which contained a very large walk in wardrobe/study area and another large double bedroom. Also incorporated into the space was a large bathroom and throughout the loft space were plenty of storage facilities.
4 dormer windows were added to the roof structure, 2 at the front of the property and 2 at the rear, which not only allowed a lot of light to enter the loft conversion but also added even more character to this beautiful property, by designing Georgian style dormer windows to keep the character and country nature of the site. This was an important consideration for the council and planning concerns, including the use of conservation rooflights as this property is in a conservation area.
